Through the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) law and as a result of not meeting AYP (annual yearly progress), Limestone moved into corrective action during the 2010-2011 school year. The State of Illinois allowed all schools in corrective action last year to use the "Rising Star" software tool to complete their school improvement plan. This tool has proven to be invaluable in helping us write our school improvement plan. This year, Limestone was placed into "Planning for Restructuring" and on December 9, the Universal Leadership Team met to begin the planning process.

Schools that are in the "Planning for Restructuring" stage must assess ten indicators (objectives). The team worked for two hours to determine our current level of implementation for each indicator (objective). In deciding the level of implementation, the team had to compile data and identify evidence to support each decision. This information will be entered into Rising Star and our progress will be monitored by ISBE and our RESPRO coach, Penny Murphy.
Limestone has made many changes the past two years and implemented many new initiatives as we strive towards improved student learning.
